Safety: Ilorin airport manager solicits collaboration of host community

Towards ensuring safety of the Ilorin International Airport, the manager, Alhaji AbdulAzeez Ibrahim, has called for the cooperation of members of the immediate community to assist in curbing cattle invasion and illegal mining.
The manager also tasked the committee saddled with the responsibilty of ensuring safety at the airport to be proactive in carrying out the assignment.
Recall that the Federal Airport Authourity of Nigeria (FAAN) had organised a stakeholders’ meeting to discuss issues on herdsmen and cattle incursion, land encroachment and illegal mining activities at the airport, some months ago.
Speaking during a chat with Pilot Aviation on Friday, the manager said: “In line with with our resolutions during the stakeholders’ meeting to put an end to incursion of the airport land, illegal and land encroachment, I want the committee to be proactive in the discharge of its responsibilities.”
The manager, who spoke through the Head of Corporate Affairs FAAN, Mr. Adeyeoluwa Oluwakayode, added that among the terms of reference is for the committee to find lasting solution to the vices.
“The committee has been mandated to feedback the airport manager on any development, which in turn will be transmitted to FAAN headquarters for appropriate action.
He then solicited suppprt of various stakeholders in ensuring safety of the airport and passengers at all times.
“We are forging a harmonious working relationship with every stakeholder to ensure safety of the airport and passengers at every point in time.
