Offa Banks Robbery: KWIRS donates N10m for mopol barrack project

The Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KWIRS) on Tuesday donated a total sum of N10 million for the construction of mammy market at the newly built Mobile Police barracks in Offa, Offa Local Government Area of the state.
Recall that the barrack was built by Offa community following the armed robbery attack on banks in April, last year that left about 33 people dead.
Presenting the cheque to the Olofa of Offa, Oba Muftau Gbadamosi the Executive Chairman of KWIRS, Prof. Muritala Awodun said the donation is in fulfilment of an earlier made promise.
“We are here to fulfill the promise we made last year to contribute to the Security Trust Fund for the construction of Mammy market to make life comfortable for the mobile police in the barrack.
“This will boost the morale of the security personnel to enhance surveillance activities in Offa community and the state at large,” he added.
According to him, KWIRS will continue to embark on community impact projects and development of the state as means of giving back to various communities.
He applauded the support received from the member of the Kwara State House of Assembly representing Offa and Oyun constituency, Hon. Hassan Oyeleke.
Responding, the Olofa appreciated the management of KWIRS for their continuous support to the community, thereby assuring that his subjects will continue to play their part through tax payment.
The monarch disclosed that the revenue agency had earlier donated 50 dozens of chairs to the palace.
