Ilorin-based lawyer remanded over alleged homosexuality with commercial motorcyclist
We condemn criminality, he should be tried – YLF boss

A Revenue Court sitting in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, on Tuesday remanded an Ilorin based-legal practitioner, Ikebunda Francis over alleged homosexuality with a commercial motorcyclist.
He was dragged before Magistrate AbdulGaniyu Ajia for the offence of unnatural offence contrary to section 284 of penal code law.
According to the Police First Information Report (FIR), the motorcycle rider, Peter John lodged the complaint at the State Intelligence Bureau (SIB) police headquarters, Ilorin.
The motorcyclist in his complaint revealed that he took a man from Sango to Fate area of the state.
The FIR added that while they were on the way to Fate, the accused person introduced himself to him as a lawyer and that he was asking him series of questions.
Furthermore, the accused informed him (motorcyclist) that he will like to help, hence, he should endeavour to come and know where he lives.
The FIR stressed that John agreed to know his house at Sheik Kabio St Adebayo, Fate/Tanke.
The Police report also revealed that the accused person promised to give the complaninat N1million, write his WAEC and JAMB if only he agrees to have sexual intercourse with him.
The complainant agreed to the accused pleadings but promised to come back the next day.
After the police of the accused person intention, the operative used John as bait, followed him to Francis house but hung around.
“After some minutes, the Police entered and met John and Francis half naked with only their boxers on them. Francis male organ was erected and a Vaseline Jelly was robbed on it. The remain Vaseline was recovered on the bed,” the FIR divulged.
The prosecutor, Inspector Toyin Olasupo prayed the court to remand the accused in prison custody.
The accused person counsel, Angus Ibebukwe move a motion application for the bail of his client.
He urged the court to admit him to bail on the bases that the accuse is still presumed innocent until contrarily proved otherwise.
The magistrate in his ruling remanded the accused in prison custody while the matter was adjourned to today, 14th February, 2019.
Meanwhile, the chairman of the Young Lawyers’ Forum (YLF) of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Barr. Olayinka Dauda Jimoh, who reacted to the development, identified the lawyer as a member of the YLF, frowned at the alleged offence of the accused person.
He said, “we detest criminality and he should face his trial. The security operatives should do their job to unravel truth of the matter”
