Covenant Child  Schools holds 3rd inter-house sports competition

 

Covenant Child Schools, on Thursday, held its third inter-house sports competition at the Kwara State Stadium complex, Ilorin.
The event commenced with a spectacular and colourful March Past, where pupils of the competing Houses; Assurance (Blue), Favour (Yellow), Possibility (Red) and Greatness (Green), put up a fantastic performance to the delight of parents and other guests.

The competition, which afforded the students opportunity to display their athletic skill, also  featured many interesting activities, such as relay race, sack race, filling-the-bottle ‘catching the train’ and relay races  for both male and female, among others.
The pupils gave their best to ensure that their respective houses emerged the winner.
Parents and teachers were not left out of the fun and excitement  as they participated in races.
At the end of the competition, Favour (Yellow) House came first, followed by Possibility (Red) House, while Assurance (Blue) House clinched third position and Greatness (Green) House came  fourth.
In her remarks, the Proprietress of the school, pastor(Mrs) Seyi Aboyeji, stressed that sport is also an integral part of the overall grooming of the children to prepare them for the future.
She described the students’ performance as amazing, noting that the event served as avenue for the pupils, parents,  teachers and school management to interact  outside the school setting.
Also speaking, the Director of Schools, Mrs Kehinde Sarumi, said with the competition the school aims to promote sportsmanship among the pupils, urging parents to encourage their children to participate in sporting activities for total development.
She expressed delight over the pupils’ performance and outstanding skills and athletic display, describing it as impressive.
