AN unidentified hunter on Monday killed his colleague during an argument at Sango area, Ilorin, National Pilot has learnt.
It was gathered that the incident occurred around 7pm as three hunters were returning from an expedition.
An eyewitness simply identified as Yahaya told our reporter that the three men while returning from hunting expedition with their dogs engaged in a shouting match.
“What I heard was that one of them said no one can kill his dog and go freely adding that anyone who touches his animal would be dealt with,” he said.
Speaking further, Yahaya said that two of the hunters started fighting with hunting sticks and in the process one of them was hit on the head and he bled to death.
“No one could intervene because of the dangerous weapons with the hunters. It was only after one of them fell to the ground during the fight that everyone rushed to the scene to rescue him but his attacker took to his heels.
“The matter was reported at the police station and on getting to his house which is close to the ‘Sunday Sunday’ market, the officers arrested his father in the hunter’s absence”
When contacted, yesterday, the Kwara State Police Command, spokesperson, DSP Ajayi Okasanmi said he is unaware of such incident.
