2 remanded for allegedly gang-raping 19-yr-old

19 and 22-year-old Sodiq Abdulrauf and Ali Ahmad respectively are currently cooling their heels in prison custody for allegedly gang rapping 19-year-old Akingbade Elizabeth in Ilorin, Kwara State.
They were brought before Magistrate Monisola Kamson for the alleged offences of criminal conspiracy and rape contrary to section 97 and 282 of penal code law.
The Police’s First Information report revealed that the matter was transferred from ‘G’ Divisional Police headquarter, Oloje to Criminal Intelligence and Investigative Department (CIID), Ilorin.
The Police report stated that the victim who resides at Owoniboys, Upper Taiwo area accompanied her friend, Aishat to her boyfriend’s house.
The accused persons were said to have confronted Elizabeth with the allegation that she’s fond of demanding money from men.
The two accused persons and one Korani who is at large descended on the complainant thereby beating her mercilessly. The Police report divulged.
The FIR added that Ahmad and Abdulrauf pushed the complainant on bed, hence, forcefully having canal knowledge of her one after the other.
Investigation conducted at the CIID office revealed that the accused persons intentionally conspired together to assault the complainant.
The Prosecutor, Gbenga Ayeni in his submission told the court to order the remand of the accused persons.
The magistrate in his ruling, remanded the accused persons while the matter was adjourned to next week Monday, 15th, May 2019.
