Ali emerges NYCN Chairman in Kwara

The Kwara State chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) on Tuesday elected new executive members that will steer the affairs of the council for the next three years.
The election held at the conference room of the Ministry of Sports and Youth development was witnessed by the Commissioner for Sports and Youths Development, Hon. Muideen Olaniyi Alalade, Youth representatives from the 16 Local Government Area of Kwara State and other stakeholders.
In his remarks, the Commissioner commended the leaders of NYCN for their dedication, doggedness, endurances and cooperation that paved way for the success recorded.
Hon Alalade also appreciated the state Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed for the support given to the council.
According to him, it is not easy to manage people especially during the trying period of recession.
He however stated that with the people’s support, cooperation and understanding the government has achieved tremendously.
Speaking with newsmen after the inauguration of the new executives, the NYCN Chairman in Kwara State, Comrade Ali Nasiru Yusuf said it was mandatory for the body according to the constitution to conduct a free and fair election after three years tenure.
He added that, this among other reasons explained why another election was conducted for new executives that will paddle the affairs of the body for the next three years.
According to him, the election was conducted in the presence of all representatives of NYCN across the 16 Local Government Areas of Kwara State.
The new Chairman urged the youths to be focused, determined and be good Ambassadors of the state.
He said, “As the youths rely on government for support, it is equally mandatory for youths to always support government policies and programmes for the development of the state.”
He charged the incoming administration to focus and invest heavily on youths, saying their development would ensure the development of Kwara State.
In his reaction, the immediate past chairman, Comrade Kazeem Adekanye, described his tenure as successful adding that, “The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) today conducted another delegates’ election that comprises 44 affiliated voluntary organisations.
“The election conduct was a very commendable and successful one because the delegates displayed maturity and conducted themselves in proper manner.”
He charged the new executives to be advocates of youths and to proffer lasting solutions to the problem confronting youths in the state.
Speaking further, he said, “In the past, we contributed our own quota for the realization of government policy and we pledged our allegiance to further support any government of the day.”
Other newly elected executives of NYCN are; Arinde Olushola Gabriel as Secretary, Ibrahim Ndailori Mohammed as Deputy Chairman, Yahaya Fatima (Treasurer), Ayinde Wahab (Financial Secretary) Kayode Ojo Asanloko (PRO) among others.
