Liverpool and United to face off over Firpo
Real Betis could be set to lose Junior Firpo this summer with
Manchester United and Liverpool circling, according to Marca.
The European champions aren’t put off by the €50million release clause
in the player’s contract and they see the Spaniard as a good
complement for Andy Robertson on the left.

Keane leaves Nottingham Forest
Nottingham Forest assistant manager Roy Keane has left the club,
according to a statement.
The former Manchester United captain, who played for Forest early in
his career, was appointed as manager Martin O’Neill’s number two in
January.
Keane said: “Working with Martin over the last few years has been a
magnificent experience, one of my greatest in football both as a
player and a coach and one I want to personally thank him for.”
Milan in talks over Ceballos
AC Milan are chasing Real Madrid’s Dani Ceballos on a two-year loan,
as reported by Gazetta dello Sport.
Talks reportedly took place between the two sides this week with as
many as five Real names discussed, but the Serie Aoutfit are y tempted
by Ceballos’ versatility.
Milan are considering entering into a loan deal for the Spain under-21
international as a way of circumventing Financial Pair Play rules.
Tuchel to offer Sanchez lifeline
Thomas Tuchel is ready to offer Renato Sanchez the chance to end his
Bayern Munich nightmare by offering him a contract as PSG, according
to L’Equipe.
The 21-year-old has struggled to make an impact since joining Bayern
and was loaned out to Swansea in 2017, but Tuchel is ready to make him
his next signing as a replacement for Adrien Rabiot.
Milan in for Kovacic
AC Milan want to sign Croatian midfielder Mateo Kovacic on loan from
Real Madrid, according to a report in Corriere dello Sport.
Zinedine Zidane is reportedly ready to allow Kovacic to spend a second
season out on loan after spending last term at Chelsea.
The Croatian played 51 times for Chelsea as Maurizio Sarri’s team
finished third in the Premier League and lifted the Europa League.
Atsu happy to stay at Newcastle
Christian Atsu says he is happy at Newcastle and cited Rafa Benitez as
his main motivation for wishing to stay, he told Football Made in
Ghana.
The Ghana international joined Newcastle in 2016 and has made 95
appearances for the St. James’s Park side.
Atsu said: “I’m very happy at Newcastle and I’m happy with the fans.
I’m especially happy with [Rafa) Benitez, the staff and everybody at
the club.
“I’d like to stay there as many years as possible but it will depend
on me and my performances.”
United ‘ready to increase De Gea contract offer’
United are reportedly ready to offer David de Gea £350,000 a week in a
bid to keep the Spanish goalkeeper at Old Trafford.
The Sun say the deal will be a four-year one until 2023 with the
option for the club to extend it by a further year.
United had previously offered De Gea £300,000 a week and that offer
had been on the table for several months, but the 28-year-old had
turned his nose up at that as he eyed a salary closer to that of top
earner Alexis Sanchez.
The report adds that United are confident De Gea will stay at the club
on the improved terms.
Ed Woodward ‘ready to take gamble’ on Paul Pogba
Ed Woodward is hoping to give Paul Pogba a new bumper contract in
order to keep him at United, according to reports.
According to the Sun, Woodward is ready to take a ‘big gamble’ and
offer Pogba up to £500,000-a-week so that he stays at the club.
Real Betis considering move for Origi
Real Betis are the latest club to consider a move for Liverpool
forward Divock Origi, reports Estadio Deportivo.
The striker is entering the final year of his contract and could spark
a race for his signature, should Jurgen Klopp decide he is surplus to
requirements.
Despite seeing first-team opportunities limited last season, the
24-year-old netted a brace in Liverpool’s 4-0 Champions League
semi-final win over Barcelona and scored again in their 2-0 final win
over Tottenham.
Ferdinand urged Lampard to take the top job at Chelsea
Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has urged Frank
Lampard to become the new Chelsea manager.
The Blues are now without a boss after Maurizio Sarri returned to
Italy to join Serie A champions Juventus last week, and their former
midfielder is the man expected to take over.
“They should do it! I think he will get it,” Ferdinand said on former
Chelsea striker Didier Drogba’s Instagram story.
Dani Alves announces PSG departure, already link to Barcelona
Dani Alves announced on Sunday that he is leaving Paris Saint-Germain
and has already been linked with a return to Barcelona.
The Brazil international made the announcement on Instagram after
scoring in Brazil’s 5-0 win over Peru in the Copa America on Saturday.
It did not take long for the rumor mill to click into action and link
the right-back with a return to the Spanish champions.
Barcelona are not short of options at right-back and have rotated
between Sergi Roberto and Nelson Semedo most recently, while Moussa
Wague may also come in contention next season.
