StarTimes subscribers lament poor service in Ilorin

Customers of StarTimes, a payTV in Ilorin, Kwara State have decried poor service delivery by the service provider.
The subcribers, who spoke to Pilot Business alleged that the provider was shortchanging them as most of the required number of channels available for various bouquets are not accessible.
A Civil Servant, Mr. Demola Olarewaju, complained that the StarTimes is offering tardy service to subscribers lately.
According to him, I recharged the bouquet package at N1,300 for office use on August 24, 2017 just for me to notice that the service was not activated.
” I complained to the StarTimes agent and he explained to me that it was poor network that it would be resolved. Thereafter, it was activated but I could only view few channels as against the 70 channels for that bouquet package.”
According to him, further complaint at the head office of the company in the state capital did not yield the expected result.
” I visited the company’s office along Ahmadu Bello way and after I made complaint known, another staff was directed to attend to me. The staff insisted that I had to bring my decoder to their office before the issue can be resolved.
“I told them that my busy schedule wouldn’t afford me that luxury to be making trips to their office and I requested that the staff should follow me to my office to fix the problem but he refused.
“I later called the customer care desk of the company and I was pleaded with to be patient that the problem would soon be resolved,” he added.
Olarenwaju, who said the StarTimes has failed to ensure customers satisfaction in its business dealings, said he is contemplating migrating to another PayTV for the desired quality service delivery.
Another subscriber, Mr. Jamiu Akande, expressed dissatisfaction with low quality service rendered by the company.
” I subscribed to Unique bouquet package sometimes ago only to discover that instead of showing all the channels, I could only view 50 channels. I visited their outlet several times and was told that it is network problem.
” When the subscription expired I decided not to subscribe again. . If the company is not ready to serve its customers, it should shut down operation rather than shortchanging people who subscribe with hard earned money,” he lamented.
Efforts to get reaction from the StarTimes agents proved abortive as calls to the general line could not connect at the time of filing this report.
