SPORTS PERSONALITY:We’ll adopt Int’l practices to get Kwara Utd back to NPFL – Titiloye
Kumbi Titiloye is the new Chairman of Kwara United Football Club, Ilorin. In this interview with MIKE ADEYEMI, he speaks about the readiness of his board to came up with blueprints towards re-positioning the club as well as adopting International best practices to get Kwara United back to the NPFL. Excerpts:
How do you feel coming home to work again in a familiar terrain?
Well. I think I have been called upon to contribute my quota to the development of Kwara United and not only in football, but the marketability and branding of the club.
What formula would you adopt to get Kwara United back to the NPFL?
We’ll adopt International best practices which encompasses all-inclusiveness. I think with that, the sky is the limit.
Can you expatiate on this?
Myself and the team will ensure we take the bull by the horn. Hopefully, we ‘ll have a formidable team.
Are you assuring Kwarans that the club will be back on top league next season?
What I’m telling you is that we ‘ll adopt International best practices and see how things could be done differently.
My mission in Kwara United FC is to reposition the club and make it an enviable brand with globally acceptable standard.
International best practise in this clime?
There is nothing impossible. The Executive Governor of Kwara State adopt International practices to govern the state so far. So it is equally possible for us here.
Biffo has been appointed as the Technical Adviser of Kwara United, what is the rationale for his appointment?
The rationale behind his appointments is based on his track records and CV and his ability to utilise players coupled with his vast experience.
Are you sure this is enough to take the club back to the top league?
Yes. What else did he need again? We have the club to support him, the other coaches are there too.
As a Technical Adviser, he will give the philosophy of the team alongside coaching the team to victory.
How many players are on ground now and what is the level of readiness of the club ahead of the NNL season?
We are still screening players to bring out the best. We are presently going for some tournaments. We have another one in Asaba too. At the end of it all, we should have our blueprints.
