Insecurity: Kwara VGN procures 6 operational motorcycles

The Kwara State Command of Vigilante Group of Nigeria have purchased six operational motorcycles for its operatives to carry out their operations.
The operational motorcycles were handed over to the Vigilante operatives by the Chief Executive Officer of SEAP, Dr. Olatunde Oladokun on Wednesday at the SEAP office.
The Command acquired the operational motorcycles through the loan secured from SEAP for effective crime fighting in the state.
The Assistant Commander General of VGN, Saka Ibrahim, said that the motorcycles will enhanced their crime fighting operations in the state.
He therefore charged the officers to make use of the operational motorcycles for the purpose which it is meant for, urging them to be diligent in their work too.
“The motorcycles will be distributed to 8 of our units. One will patrol from Adewole to Al Hikmah University area, another one has been assigned to Geri Alimi – Sawmill area, one has been allocated to patrol from Geri Alimi to Asa Dam, one will also patrol from Dangote to 7 up and from 7up area to Offa Garage among other places.”
He added that the mobile phone numbers of the patrol operatives will be released to members of the public before commencement of their operation.
In his remarks, the Chief Executive Officer of SEAP, urged the VGN leadership to enroll their men for adult education.
He also cautioned the VGN operatives against intake alcoholic drinks while on duty and smoking of India hemp.
“The commander should collaborate with NDLEA. They should subject operatives of VGN to drug test on the operatives for the safety of all.”
Oladokun tasked the vigilante operatives to ensure fairness in their dealings, reminding them that they will account for all their deeds on judgement day.
He also urged youths to shun drug abuse, noting that it could destroy their life and career, saying “they should be committed to their education and shun all crimes and criminal activities.”
