Community commissions N27m monarch’s edifice
Kwara State Governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has appealed to Kwarans to remain united for sustainable rapid development of their various communities across the state.
The governor made the appeal while commissioning the new ‘Fada’ of Alangua Adewole in Ilorin on Saturday.
He said it always difficult for the government to bring developmental project to an area where there is no peace, urging the residents to always allow peace to reigns in their communities and desist from any form of crisis for development.
The governor who was represented at the event by the Commissioner for Enterprise, Alhaji Abdulwahab Agbaje enjoined the people of the community to give peace a chance, noting that government project is easy to cite in a peaceful environment.
He added that people must be conscious of their environment to maintain mutual relationship among themselves, urging them to be their brother’s keeper at all the times and speak with one voice for all round development.
He solicited more robust support from the public for his administration to succeed on its policy and programme aimed at improving the living conditions of masses and called on the youths to think positive on how to add their quota to development of the community, the state and the nation as a whole.
Earlier in his welcome speech, the outgoing National President of Adewole Development Association, Alhaji Isiaka Adisa Olorundare said the association was formed in 1978 by a group of like minds in the community.
He said the association was led by his Eminence, late Sheikh Adisa Onikoko who paddled the affairs of association for over thirty years.
He reiterated that the idea of project came up through inspiration in 2016 during one of Ileya festivals, adding that the entire association’s congress approved the reconstruction of the palace which cost N27m.
He expressed his appreciation to Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for appointing one of indigenes of Adewole as one of Commissioner for State Civil Service Commission, while also thanking him for benevolence as the community request for more political posts.
In his short votes of thank, the chairman palace commissioning committee, Alhaji Abdullahi Otukoko acknowledged the selfless contributions of the entire members of the community and the friends of Adewole for their remarkable effort toward the completion of the palace.
Awardees include the Kwara State Governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, the out going President of Adewole Development Association, Alhaji Isiaka Adisa Olorundare, Hon. Abdulateef Tijani, Engr. Olayinka Ibrahim Otukoko, Alhaji Saka Yusuf Onibata, Alhaji Abdulrahman Sanusi, Dr. (Mrs.) Taye Ambali and Col. Ayinde Apaokagi.
Others are Prof. Saka Nuhu and Alhaji Funsho Abdulrazaq, Alhaji Abdullahi Otukoko, and Dr. Ibrahim Gambari, Mr. Hope Daramola, Alhaji Adam Nurudeen, Alhaji Tajudeen Ibrahim Eleku, Alhaji Saka Yisau, Barrister Abdulrahman Abdulrahman, Hajia Afusat Kazum, Dr. Alimi Abdulrazaq, Alhaji Manhood Salman and Barrister Ibrahim Atanda among others.
