Afenifere urges Abdulrazaq to embrace Amotekun

The Kwara State chapter of the Pan Yoruba Organisation, Afenifere has called on the Kwara State Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq to key-into the Amotekun Security Project being canvassed in all Yoruba States.
This call was unanimously adopted at a State meeting of the chapter held on 29th February, 2020.
The group maintained that apart from the cultural and linguistic affinity of Kwara State with the South-western states, the ravaging herdsmen have caged many communities and subjected them to avoidable trauma.
In a statement jointly signed by the chairman of the group in Ilorin, Hon Lekan Alabi and PRO, Comrade Adeleye Adebayo and made available to this medium, Afenifere said โ€œOur farms are being ravaged with impunity by the herdsmen and we have gradually become prisoners in our land.
โ€œIn the light of the above, we call on Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq to key into the Amotekun Security Project as proposed by the Yoruba States.
โ€œThis will prevent unnecessary loss of lives, loss of properties and anguish that herdsmen/community clashes could bringโ€, it noted.
Afenifere however condemned the abduction of a member of NURTW (Maraba Garage chapter), Mallam Taofeeq Ali who was kidnapped near Kainji.
โ€œAs it happened in Niger State, so it happened in nearby Kogi State; therefore, we in Kwara State must not sleep with our eyes closed. A stitch in time saves nineโ€, it noted.
