Plateau United duo of, Ikefe Okeoghene and David Obiazo escaped death on their way coming back from training yesterday morning following a brief accident on the road.
According to report from Adeleye Gbenga, who said former Kwara United defender, Andrew Ikefe informed him of the incident in a phone conversation.
Both players who were returning from their morning training in their car were hit by a jeep driven by a young boy around Plateau Hospital Round about in Jos.
“We were on our way back from training when a jeep driven by a young boy rammed over us near the Plateau Hospital Round about.
“The jeep was trying to negotiate a bend after the Hill Station Hotel and failed brakes and rammed into us. Thank God for saving me and my man Obiazo.
Ikefe says it would have someone else making the call but he thanked God for spearing their lives, revealing he is still in shock of the incident and need to rest his head.
“It would have been someone else calling to tell you of this accident if not for God you kept us and for the seat belt we wore, it would been another story.
“I am still in shock. We need to rest our head now,” Ikefe told Gbenga in a sober mood.
Plateau United who are sitting comfortable at the top of the league with four points ahead of Rivers United will face Kwara United on Wednesday at the Jos Stadium.
