2023: PDP holds close door meeting with Ali Ahmad, Bolaji Abdullahi, Saka Isau, Ladi Hassan, other ex-guber aspirants

The Kwara State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Sunday held a closed door meeting with its former gubernatorial aspirants and called on them to join hands with the leadership to end bad governance in the state.
The meeting which was held at the partyโ€™s Tanke Junction Secretariat, Ilorin has immediate past Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon Ali Ahamad, former Minister of Youth and Sports, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, former State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Saka Isau (SAN) and one time Chief of Staff and former Commissioner for Health, Alhaji Ladi Hassan among others.
Although the meeting was not made public, National Pilot learnt that the get-together with the partyโ€™s 2019 gubernatorial aspirants was aimed at galvanizing the party and chant a better course for Kwara.
It was gathered that the party’s State Working Committee (SWC) expressed its confidence in all personalities and beseeched them to have trust in the party and its leadership as it strives to forge ahead going forward.
The parley also further advised individuals in the Party to play down on their personal ambitions for now and concentrate on meetings across various Local Government Ares and wards.
โ€œAt the meeting we discussed ways of further strengthening the Party and our intention to ensure the collaboration of other stakeholders in the State ahead of future elections in the State.
โ€œWe appealed to the former gubernatorial aspirants of the Party to help in galvanizing the Party in the State continues to upholding their confidence in the Party despite past events.
โ€œThe SWC assured them that a high level of discipline will be maintained in the Party with the assurances of due process in all party decisions and management. We also agreed that for now all hands must be on deck to elevate the Party by ensuring that all aggrieved members are pacified to resume their normal activities in their various wards and Local Government areas.
โ€œThe SWC will ensure that this type of consultation will be carried out at the various strata of our members in the State. Every Party member is important and shall so be treated.
โ€œOur main aim is to ensure that we save Kwara from the ongoing bad governance in the State. Our citizens are wallowing in abject poverty. Promises made by the reigning APC Government are not being fulfilled. Therefore for now all hands must be on deck for our Party members to ensure cohesion on our programs and activities and convince the electorate to vote right and return power to the PDP in the Stateโ€, the further details of the meeting obtained last night noted.
