The Super Eagles will be approaching the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers and the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations with a big smile on their faces after the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) confirmed that they have paid the bonus of Nigeriaโs squad to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
Recall that the Super Eagles finished the tournament as the third-best team after beating Tunisia 1-0 in the Third-Place match. After the encounter, the NFF could not pay the bonus of the players.
BBCโs Oluwashina Okeleji confirmed this announcement via his official twitter handle, where he noted that the NFF has finally paid the players that went to 2019 Afcon their bonus, although itโs not clear if Rohr and Agu have also received their salaries.
The announcement will certainly charge the playerโs morale, most especially ahead of the World Cup qualifiers. The Three-time AFCON champions also recently qualified for the 2022 AFCON tournament in Cameroon after topping Group L unbeaten in a group that consists of Benin, Sierra Leone, and Lesotho.
