In face of daunting financial challenges abound in the country and to ameliorate rural governance, the TIC Chairman of llorin West LG, Hon. Mukhtar Omotosho Abdulgafar has inaugurated two committees to boost Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the council area and to re-identify LG properties for proper documentation and monitoring, that will also boost the LG’s IGR.
He said at the inauguration at the Local Government Headquarters Conference Hall that, “We need to look ahead towards alternative source(s) of revenue for the LG activities to be attended to promptly; we must not be too reliant on monthly federal allocation from Abuja”.
The Chairman asserted that his people are aspiring and yearning for economic wellbeing that woule make them access meaningful livelihood.
Hon.Abdulgafar charged the two committees to work in line with their terms of reference and be time conscious.
“The two committees should work together to determine the benefits towards efficient revenue generation and improvement of IGR of the local government”, he emphasized.
The Chairman reiterated the need for blockage of revenue leakages, identifying challenges that impedes performance of revenue officers and advised on how to improve the system efficiently and effectively.
He charged members of the two committees to be far above board in their assignments while the committees have four weeks to submit it reports.
“Your activities I believe will give us the desired results to move forward in the right direction and make life more meaningful to our people, the young dynamic administrator,” he added.
