The Kwara Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (KWACCIMA), has said it is in partnership with Kwara State University, Malete towards establishment of KWACCIMA Academy.
Immediate past president of KWACCIMA, Dr. Ahmed Adeoye Raji stated this during the 51st Annual General Meeting(AGM) of the chamber held at KWACCIMA house on Tuesday.
According to him, “the chamber is partnering with KWASU on Business Academy for an alternative source of sustainable revenue generation.
“The Business Academy will be an alternative avenue to increase the Chamber’s finances. This Centre is a centre for distant and e- learning among others,” Raji said.
He added that the business organization has witnessed tremendous growth as it has had national and international exposure.
“It is pertinent to mention few of our achievements for the purpose of this event. In order to expose the chamber to the nation and outside the world, department of I.T was created with our website.
“All these are created to facilitate easy communication and have easy access to our organization. The year under review also witnessed the constitution and inauguration of NACCIMA Business Women Group(NAWORG) and NACCIMA youth entrepreneur, all to empower women and youth.
“May I also inform you that we are at the advanced stage to accredit KWACCIMA with centre for International Private Enterprises (CIPE). If completed, it will foster good governance , empower and promote entrepreneur, culture and create awareness to democratic and market free,” he further said.
He however stressed that there is robust relationship between KWACCIMA and the State Government under the leadership of Mall. Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq.
“I am happy to state that the State Government saw KWACCIMA as partner to work with, hence my humble self was appointed as a member of committee on Ease of Doing Business in Kwara State.
“Moreso, the State Government has allocated land for Kwara Trade Fair ground along Lasoju – Ogbomoso road. All these show the good working relationship of our Chamber with the Kwara State Government, ” he revealed.
Meanwhile, the new President of the Kwara Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (KWACCIMA), Mr Ayodimeji Fatai, has urged the state government to hasten the process of ease of doing business which it initiated.
Fatai said this became necessary to attract more investments to the state and as well keep the existing ones afloat.
The recently elected 10th president of KWACCIMA, stated this while answering questions from our reporter shortly after the AGM.
While hailing the state government’s efforts at promoting entrepreneurship and for taking the initiative of scaling up the state on the ladder of ease of doing business, he urged it to carry along key stakeholders in the planning and execution of policies involving the business community.
“As the voice of the business in the state, we are ready and prepared to partner the state government in all areas that impact on business in the state,” KWACCIMA president assured.
He also stated his determination to ensure that businesses thrive in the state during his tenure of office, adding that all members of the association would be carried along in achieving KWACCIMA’s lofty objectives.
Other officers elected alongside Fatai include Barr. Oluronke Adeyemi (1st Deputy President) Mr. Olugbenga Odetola (Vice President, Commerce), Alhaja Asiat Saka (Treasurer), Barr. Abiodun Dada (Legal Adviser) and Mrs Medinat Oladotun (Public Relations Officer), among others.
