Presidency congratulates Emir of Ilorin, Onikijipa over Mufti title

The Office of the Presidency, State House, Abuja has congratulated the Emir of Ilorin, His Royal Highness, Dr. Ibrahim Sulu Gambari and As-Sheikh Suleiman Faruq Onikijipa, on the new appointment of the 4th Grand Mufti of Ilorin and its environs.
The message which was contained in a letter addressed to the Office of the Emir on Monday reads:
“It is with the highest prestige of this office that the Presidency congratulates and commends your Royal Highness on the impeccable discharge of your traditional duties and rites on behalf of the good people of Ilorin and Kwara State at large, in the key appointment of a new religious leader of the entire state whose position is officially known as GRAND MUFTI OF ILORIN AND ITS ENVIRONS.
“As the holder of this office is known to be the custodian of all the Islamic related issues that transpires in such jurisdiction, and the head of a body and institution formally referred to as the Daru’ul Iftah, whose primary function and duty is to dispose of all the ISLAMIC FATWAH that arises in the appropriate jurisdiction in line with Islamic laws and rites.
“In this regard, the Presidency extends its warm and heartfelt congratulations to the holder of this office as appointed by the Emir, in the name of As-Sheikh Suleiman Faruq Onikijipa (Al-Miskeen-Billah).
“The Presidency wishes him a bountiful and abundance of strength in the discharge of his duties and a good luck in all his future engagements.
