Jama’atu Nasril Islam appoints new EXCO Committee Chair

A popular Islamic Socio-religious group, Jama’atu Nasril Islam, has announced the appointment of His Royal Highness, Alhaji. Dr. Haliru Yahya, as the chairman of the executive committee of Kwara state Council.
The appointment of Alhaji Yahya, who is the Emir of Shonga was disclosed via a press release signed by the publicity secretary of the group, who also doubles as the Magaji Nda of Ilorin, Alh. Dr. Salihu Woru Mohammed.
The group under the aegis of his Royal highness, the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, who is the National vice president general of the group, approved the appointment of the monarch.
According to the press release dated 1st of September 2021, the appointment of the monarch, “was based on his deep knowledge of administration of Islamic organization and his national exposure”.
The statement added that the appointment of the Emir of Shonga ,”will be for the benefit of Islam and Muslims in the state”.
The release however congratulates the Royal father for his appointment, which was said to be a well deserved one.
The group also made a call to all the members of Muslim organizations in the state and beyond, to cooperate fully with the new appointee in the task ahead.
Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) (English: “Society for the Support of Islam”) is an umbrella group for the Nigerian Muslim community, its headquarter is in the city of Kaduna, and its president is the Sultan of Sokoto. The organisation conducts Islamic education and missionary works in Nigeria.
The idea for the formation of JNI came up in 1962 after the return of the then Premier of Northern Nigeria, Alhaji (Sir) Ahmadu Bello from pilgrimage in Makkah.
