The men of Kwara State Police Command have rescued a 25-yr-old girl, Kafayat Jamiu of Olupo Farm Settlement in Eruku Area of Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State.
The police, in conjunction with Vigilante Group of Nigeria and the community hunters carried out the search and rescue operation.
This was made known to National Pilot by the command spokesperson, SP Ajayi Okasanmi through his press statement.
The victim was kidnapped on Friday, at around evening by, unknown gunmen that invaded the community and kidnapped the victim while sleeping in her room.
According to Okasanmi,” on 24th September, 2021 at about 06:40hrs, an information was received by the police about the kidnapping of one Kafayat Jamiu, 25 years old, of Olupo Farm Settlement, Eruku, Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State, while sleeping in her room by unidentified gunmen.
“The Command’s tactical teams in conjunction with local hunters and vigilantes were dispatched by the Commissioner of Police to the bushes for a search, rescue and possible arrest of the kidnappers.
“The efforts yielded a positive result early yesterday at about 0140hrs when the victim was rescued unhurt and the kidnappers escaped with bullet injuries while one locally fabricated assault rifle with four AK 47 live ammunitions were recovered. Effort to arrest the fleeing suspects is being intensified. “
