A political youth group called The Kwara South Youth has called on the former Chairman of Irepodun Local Government, Hon. Muyiwa Oladipo to disclose where his allegiance lies between APC and PDP.
It was gathered that, Hon. Muyiwa popularly known as Kanu who is one of the strong Pillars of APC was seen participating in the just concluded PDP LG congress.
According to the press statement signed by Mr Tunde Anifowoshe Ajase Ward ll and made available to National Pilot, Hon. Oladipo’s appearance at the venue of the Irepodun Local Government congress in Omuaran on Tuesday and Wednesday last week has set many tongues wagging.
“Hon. Kanu was elected as the Irepodun Local Government Council Chairman in 2017 on the Platform of the APC and later moved to the PDP in 2018 when the whole government structure moved back to the PDP.
“In 2019, following the emergence of the new APC Government under Gov Abdulrazaq in Kwara, the new APC Government engaged the elected LG Council in a running battle for months, leading to the invitation of the 16 LG chairmen by the EFCC on the allegations of fraud.
“Subsequently the state government blackmailed and coerced the 16 LG chairmen to turn coat and join the APC.
‘This culminated in the suspension of all the council chairmen in 2019 till they all began to break under the pressure of the AA Administration. Then Pronto, all the Chairmen decamped to the APC including Hon. Muyiwa Oladipo aka Kanu.
“What is worrisome is like the biblical Nicodemus who does APC during the day and PDP by the night.
“Many were surprised to see Kanu directing the PDP congress as an official whereas he is known as an APC member having pledged his allegiance to Governor AA.
“So it is imperative therefore that Hon Kanu declare his party affiliations openly so that everyone can know where he truly belongs.
“If it is true that Hon Kanu participated in the PDP congresses recently in Irepodun, he will need to declare openly where he truly belongs.
“Our findings among some APC members in Omuaran described Kanu as one of the pillars of the APC in Irepodun LGA.
“Currently nobody is sure of which party Hon. Kanu belongs and it is time for Hon Muyiwa Oladipo to speak up.”
