2-member gang of thieves remanded in prison

Two occupants of the vehicle flee but later captured, all thanks to hot chase by the gallant officers of Nigerian Police Force.
For belonging to gang of thieves contrary to Section 306 of Penal Code Law, one Suleiman Mohammed, 20 and Shehu Abubakar Sidiq, 20 were remanded in prison custody.
According to the Police First Information Report (FIR), the two suspects, Suleiman Mohammed and Shehu Abubakar Sidiq jumped out of the vehicle, ran away during police’s stop and search.
The FIR stated that on 28/09/2021 at about 6pm, a team of counter Terrorism Unit, Base 21 Kwara State Command led by Omoboh Friday was on stop and search operation along Eyenkonrin/Ogbomosho Road when they intercepted the Mitsubishi Space wagon with six occupants.
During the search, two of the occupants, Suleiman Mohammed, male and Shehu Abubakar Sidiq, male jumped out of the vehicle, and took to their heels.
But they were given a hot chase which led to their arrest with one android phone with a video of hoodlums in army camouflage shooting with AK47 service rifles and purported bullet proof charms.
Investigation conducted by the police reveals that the defendants belong to a gang of thieves that terrorises Ilorin and its environs.
During police interrogation, they could not give satisfactory account of themselves and the video on their phone. Suleiman, a trader from Ida town in Kogi state and Sidiq, cattle-rearer in Kanyan village in Niger state
Though investigation is still in progress, the prosecuting counsel argued that written on 5th October, an Exparte motion primax order to remand the defendants is attached with 12-paragraph affidavit deposed to by one Inspector Mustapha.
The exparte motion had no objection, the motion prayed the court to remand the defendants in correctional facility.
At the Ilorin Magistrate Court, the presiding judge, Magistrate Bamgbola B.O however adjourned the case to 26th October 2021.
