Toyin Saraki honoured as Humanitarian Service Icon at The Sun Newspaper Awards ceremony

The former First lady of Kwara state, Her Excellency, Barr (Mrs.) Toyin Saraki has bagged the highly coveted Humanitarian Service Icon award at the Sun Newspaper Awards ceremony.
The award which was held on Saturday at the Eko Hotels & Suites, VI, Lagos, was the 19th edition of the annual Sun Awards, witnessing the attendance of many notable personalities.
Mrs Saraki who is the founder and president of an humanitarian foundation, Wellbeing Foundation Africa, was honoured for her tremendous work in advocating and activating real solutions locally and globally for reproductive, maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent health issues through the said foundation.


The philanthropist was walked to the podium by her husband, the immediate past President of the Nigerian Senate, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki to receive the award.
In his felicitation message to his spouse, the former Kwara state Governor took to his verified social media accounts to celebrate the new milestone achieved by Mrs Saraki.
He said, “For two decades, I have seen how diligently Toyin has worked to position the Wellbeing Foundation to advocate and activate real solutions locally and globally for reproductive, maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent health issues.
“This is why, as she was honoured last night for her humanitarian work, I am proud of how far she has come; excited about the future; and join our family, friends, and supporters across the nation to celebrate this noteworthy achievement!.Congratulations, my love!” the post reads.


Notable personalities spotted at the event are, Senate President, Ahmed Lawan; Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos;Dr Chris Ngige, Minister of Labour and employment; Orji Uzor kalu; Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo and many others.
