Hijab Crisis: Kwara Muslim Community expressed displeasure over actions of Gov AbdulRahman

The representatives of the Kwara State Muslim Community, otherwise known as Kwara Muslim Stakeholders have expressed dissatisfaction with how the State governor Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq has been treating Muslims since he assumed office, saying in various ways, the bias and politically miscalculated interest of the State Governor to always favour the Christians who persecute Muslim students and the resultant crises during his tenure are too glaring even to the blind.
According to a letter addressed to the governor, the Muslim community described his actions as the tyranny of the minority against the majority and added that his behaviours showed that their demands were inconsequential as no practical steps were taken on to correct or stop the wrongs.
The community, however, recommended actions to be taken by the government in resolving the vexed issue of hijab-wearing by female Muslim students in all public schools in the state, one of which include;
The community demanded that the State Government must compensate adequately without further delay to the family of Late Habeeb Idris killed by Kwara CAN thugs on 3rd February 2022 at OBHS Ijagbo. Equally, all the criminals that participated the killing and maiming of some Muslims in Ijagbo should be arrested and prosecuted immediately, also, the govt must build a new School Mosque for Muslim Students/Teachers of Bishop Smith Memorial College Ilorin to replace the one demolished by Kwara CAN thugs.
They added that the government should appoint a new Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, while the present Permanent Secretary in the Ministry who acts more as a CAN agent than a public servant should be moved to another Ministry, among others.
