Buhari’s  ex spokesman,Fashakin dies,  3 months to graduation from UK varsity

A stalwart of the All progressives Congress and a former spokesperson of President Muhammadu Buhari, Rotimi Fashakin has  reportedly  died suddenly on Saturday evening in London, United Kingdom.
According to a source close to the family, Fashakin who is currently studying Law at the University of Buckingham in London, was  billed to graduate in December, three months away before he suddenly gave up the ghost.
 National Pilot however could not confirm the cause of his death. It also could not be confirmed whether he was ill before death or not.
Engineer Rotimi Fashakin, was a spokesman of the now defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), a member of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Organisation and Executive Director in Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA).
Fashakin, a consummate engineering and project management professional having graduated from the then University of Ife, now known as Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun state with a Bachelor degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and the Project Management Institute, USA.
He was at various times Project Manager, MTN Nigeria, Chief Operating Officer, Hybrid Systems Engineering Ltd, Technical Manager and Mobile Telecommunications Services, among others.
His close ally, Eyitayo Ajayi also confirmed his demise via post on his facebook page, ,“I lost my brother Engr Rotimi Fashakin last night. I pray God to give the family the fortitude to bear the loss.”
The last time Fashakin was in the news was earlier in April when he asserted against popular opinion that Vice- President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo did seek the blessings of APC National Leader and presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu before declaring his aspiration to contest for presidency.
He said, “That conversation has been going on in certain quarters and I don’t think that is something anybody should countenance or advance. I believe, the Vice-President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo has gone to Asiwaju himself to seek his blessing and support to contest the 2023 presidential election. That for me ends it all”.
His last post on his facebook page was a video of parade by Nigerian Army,posted on the 15th of September with caption reading, “This is Nigerian contingent in UK. The military and civilians in perfect harmony.I bet you, Nigeria shall be great again.VIVA Nigeria 🇳🇬 – the Land of my Nativity!”
The late Fashakin is survived by his wife, Mrs Olubusola Asake Fashakin and children.
