NALVEJ Mourns Saliu, National Moonlight Editor

The National League of Veteran Journalists (NALVEJ) in Kwara State has mourned the demise of the editor of National Moonlight Newspapers, Mallam Issa Saliu.
Saliu, a former senior editorial staff at the National Pilot Newspapers and chief executive officer of an online blog, RealNews died Monday’s night and was buried on Tuesday at his Adeta, Ilorin residence.
The janazah (burial) prayer was attended by the the Managing Director of National Pilot Newspapers, Alh Billy Adedamola, the Publisher of the National Moonlight, Alh Toyin Olokooba, a former Chairman of Lagos Council of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Alh AbdulWahab Oba and a former Commissioner for Education in Kwara State, Engr. Musa Yeketi, among others.
In a condolence message signed by NALVEJ Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Abdullahi Olesin, on behalf of the League’s Chairman, Alhaji Tunde Akanbi, the League said Saliu’s death has left a vacuum in the practice of journalism in the state.
The League described Saliu as a serious minded, meticulous and hardworking journalist who left his footprints on the sand of time.
NALVEJ further described the deceased as an easy going, peaceful and pious person.
It commiserated with the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), the management and staff of the National Moonlight, National Pilot, Realnews online, the immediate and extended family of the deceased.
It prayed Allah to grant Saliu eternal peace and admit him to Aljana Firdaus.
