2023: Gov Abdulrazaq’s re-election suffers setback as major aide, Esinrogunjo plots defection to PDP

The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Abdulrahaman Abdulrazaq of Kwara state, Musibau Esinrogundo, caused a major upset on Wednesday when he joined supporters of Dr Bukola Saraki’s PDP in Ilorin on his arrival to the state capital.

Esinrogundo, is the SSA, Rural Mobilization to Governor Abdulrahaman Abdulrazaq in the state.

The development shocked and took political watchers in the state by surprise as Esinrogundo is seen as a strong pillar of the APC government in the state.

A video is currently trending of how he joined supporters of Dr Saraki to welcome the former Senate President to Ilorin.

It could not be ascertained whether the action was meant to be a warning signal of his decision to port to the opposition PDP in the state.

Recall that Esinrogundo had after he contributed to the victory of the governor’s election in the state, been abandoned.

He threatened to unleash terror as he was not immediately appointed to political office by Governor Abdulrazaq.

It will be recalled that many notable politicians with intimidating followership, have either checked out of the APC or are maintaining the ‘Siddon look attitude’

Although the real development could not yet be confirmed at the time this report.

Political watchers described the yet to be declared defection by Esinrogunjo as a crack in the wall of the APC in the state.
