Kwara Flood : Oke -Ero Community Bridge Washed Away

The bridge linking Odo-Ase community in Oke-Ero Local Government Area with other parts of Kwara State has been washed away.
The incident, it was gathered, happened on Friday following a heavy downpour.
Residents lamented being cut off from other parts of the state and the impact on the socio-economic well-being of the community.
Responding, the sate governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, appointed a delegation led by deputy governor, Kayode Alabi to visit Odo-Ase community to assess extent of damage done by the downpour.
On the deputy governor’s entourage were the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Works and Transport, Alh Ishaq Olorukooba and other officials from the ministry.
The delegation visited the community to commiserate with the people as well as assess the requirements for reconstruction.
Alabi ,after commiserating with the people assured them that immediate steps will be taken to reconstruct the bridge as soon as possible to reconnect the people to their neighbouring communities and restore the socio-economic life disrupted by  the incident.
