Breaking :Corpse of late Ambassador Laro arrives Ilorin…buried ..plus photos

The corpse of the late Nigerian Ambassador to France, Amb. Kayode Laro arrived Ilorin early this morning and was buried according to Islamic rites at his family house.

The Nigerian Airforce aircraft which convey the remains of the globally acclaimed diplomat landed at the Ilorin International Airport at 8.30 am on Wednesday ( this morning).

The remains which was put in a coffin and wrapped in Nigerian flag was received by the grieving wife and other family members.

Receiving the corpse, the wife who could not hold her emotions, broke down in tears, hugging the coffin.

The corpse was moved swiftly in a long motorcade to the deceased’s family house in Okesuna area of the town for internment.

The late ambassador was buried at 9.50am.

The death of the Ilorin, kwara state born diplomat was announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Saturday.

According to the statement signed by its spokesperson. Mrs Francisca Omayuli, Laro died last Friday in Paris, France, after a protracted illness.

The statement read: “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is deeply saddened to announce the death of Ambassador Kayode Laro on Friday, 11th August, 2023, in Paris, France, after a protracted illness.

“Until his death, Ambassador Kayode Laro was Nigeria’s Ambassador to France with concurrent accreditation to Monaco. He contributed immensely to strengthening Nigeria’s relations with France.

“The Late Ambassador Laro was a career diplomat whose years in the Nigerian Foreign Service spanned 35 years, from December 1983 – December 2018
