Unknown gunmen Kill Kwara hospital boss, kidnapped daughter regains freedom

The residents of Kanbi community in Moro Local Government area, Kwara State were on Thursday left in shock as unknown gunmen invaded the area and killed the Medical Director of Dafikayo Clinic, Dr David Adefikayo.
The gunmen not only brutally murdered Dr. Adefikayo but also abducted his youngest child, a 16-year-old girl.
The motives behind this heinous act remain unclear and the identity of the perpetrators is still unknown as at the time of filing this report.
According to reports monitored on Sobi fm, the popular Ilorin based radio station, the suspects entered Dr. Adefikayo’s home around 8:30pm, and despite the doctor’s desperate pleas and offers of money or any other possessions they might wish to take, the gunmen remained resolute in their deadly intent, tragically executing their mission in front of his horrified wife and children.
A close family source, who wished to remain anonymous, recounted the horrifying incident, expressing shock and grief.
The community is also reeling from the incident, as Dr. Adefikayo was a respected figure who contributed significantly to local healthcare.
The Kwara State Police command Spokesperson Ejire Adetoun confirmed the incident, noting that investigation is ongoing.
Adetoun stated this in a phone interview with National Pilot on Friday that the command has launched a man hunt as the operatives led by the DPO of Kanbi divisional police headquarters are currently combing the bush.
Meanwhile,a source close to the family said the kidnapped daughter has regained her freedom.
