Saraki Loses Mother, Chief Mrs. Florence Morenike Saraki

The President of the 8th Nigerian Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki, has announced the death of his mother, Chief Mrs. Florence Morenike Saraki. In a heartfelt post on his official Facebook page on Tuesday, Saraki confirmed the sad news of his mother’s call to glory.
“With profound sadness and total submission to the will of Almighty God, I announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and matriarch, Chief Mrs. Florence Morenike Saraki, who peacefully transitioned today, Tuesday, June 18th, 2024,” Saraki wrote.
Chief Mrs. Florence Morenike Saraki, a distinguished member of the prominent Ibidapo family in Owo, Ondo State, was known for her significant contributions to her community and her unwavering dedication to her family. She celebrated her 88th birthday last year.
Mrs. Saraki left behind four children: Dr. Bukola Saraki, former Governor of Kwara State and President of the 8th Nigerian Senate; Senator Ruqayyah Gbemisola Saraki, a 12-year veteran of the National Assembly and a former Minister of State for the Federal Ministry of Mines and Steel Development; Mrs. Fatimah Temitope Edu, a legal practitioner and businesswoman; and Mr. Mutair Laolu Saraki, who served as a Special Assistant to the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.
The Saraki family expressed gratitude for the love, prayers, and support they have received during this difficult time as they declared that details regarding funeral arrangements will be shared in due course.
As the nation joins the Saraki family in mourning, the legacy of Chief Mrs. Florence Morenike Saraki will be remembered for her compassion, leadership, and the profound impact she had on her family and community.
