Violence Disrupts APC Primary Election in Kwara

The All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for the upcoming local government elections scheduled for September 21 was cancelled in Osi Ward 2 of Ekiti Local Government due to violence and brutality that marred the election process on Tuesday.
According to local sources, tensions escalated among party supporters, leading to physical confrontations and a breakdown of order at the polling venue.
Eyewitness reports and video evidence uploaded on Facebook by one Oyebamiji Oluwaseun Abiade showed individuals with visible injuries being treated at a local hospital. The footage highlighted the severity of the violence, prompting the election authorities to call off the primary in the affected ward.
The cancellation of the primary election in Osi Ward 2 raises concerns about the conduct and security of the upcoming local government elections. The APC and relevant authorities are expected to address the situation and implement measures to prevent a recurrence of such incidents in future electoral processes.
