Three Suspects Apprehended, Arraigned for “One Chance” Robbery

The Lagos State Police Command has taken three individuals into custody in connection with a string of ‘one chance’ robberies along Airport road in the state capital.
The arrested suspects are, Tunde Dosumu, 33, Shola Moses, 50, and Amaechi Ugochukwu, 46 .
The arrests came after two separate incidents on June 3 and 11, 2024, near the Murtala Muhammad International Airport. The suspects’ modus operandi involved using Aboniki balm to render their victims helpless before making off with their valuables.
Acting on tips from the public, police operatives tracked down and apprehended the suspects, who were subsequently taken into custody for questioning.
Following a thorough probe, the suspects were charged with conspiracy, assault, and robbery at the Ogba Magistrate Court.
The victims, including Mrs. Chidiebere Bernadette Chima, Daniel Mary Omowumi, Juliet Ajuka, and others, reported being robbed of various items, including mobile phones, handbags, wallets, laptops, earrings, and wristwatches.
Prosecutor Supol Akeem Raji presented the case, and the suspects pleaded not guilty. The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. B.O. Osunsanmi, granted bail with sureties and adjourned the case for further mention.
The defendants were remanded in custody at the Kirikiri correctional center pending the fulfillment of their bail conditions.
The police investigation is ongoing to ensure that justice is served in this case.
