Extolling the virtues of the first lady, Saraki said the family was honoured to receive the First Lady, at the instance of her husband, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“Let me from the bottom of my heart truly acknowledge and thank you for this honour. When I heard you were coming, I was pleasantly surprised that you were coming because I know of your busy schedule.
“As you have made up time to be with us, I cannot express how happy we are, and as you have honoured us, may God Almighty continue to honour you. You have shown me the kind of person you are, but I’m not surprised.
“You always see the bigger picture all the time. I know you are a passionate woman who is full of compassion. I know you are here with the knowledge of the President. I thank you very much,” he said.
Speaking earlier, Senator Tinubu, said the condolence visit, ahead of the funeral ceremony for the Saraki matriarch, was with the permission of President Tinubu.
During her visit, Mrs. Tinubu underscored the relationship between the two families, saying, “We are one family.”
The First Lady who represented Lagos Central in the 8th Senate, pointed out that the son of the deceased and President of the 8th Senate, Bukola Saraki always supported her while at the Upper Chamber.
She reassured Senator Saraki of their family bond, stating, “You know that politics aside, Mr. President will always look out for you.
“Mama lived a good life. I know it hurts so much but we thank God for the good life she lived.”
She prayed for the repose of the soul of the departed.
