Saraki Mourns Ahman-Patigi, Describes His Death as a Huge Loss to Kwara

The President of the 8th Nigerian Senate Dr. Bukola Saraki, has expressed profound grief and shock over the passing of Hon. Aliyu Ahman-Patigi, a former member of the House of Representatives who died on Thursday at age 59. Saraki, who described Ahman-Patigi’s death as a “huge loss” to Kwara State, praised his substantial contributions to the state’s development.

In a statement released on Thursday by his Press Officer on Local Matters, Abdulganiyu Abdulqadir, Saraki emphasized the significant role Ahman-Patigi played in Kwara’s growth. “Today, I received with great shock the news of the death of a political associate from Kwara North and a three-time member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Aliyu Ahman-Patigi,” Saraki said.

Highlighting Ahman-Patigi’s influence as a politician, businessman, and educationist, Saraki acknowledged his lasting impact, particularly in the field of education. “This is a great loss considering his contributions to the development of Kwara State as a politician, businessman, and educationist. Ahman-Patigi’s exploits as a federal lawmaker and his impact in the area of education as the founder of Ahman Patigi University will forever be etched in our history as a people,” he added.

Saraki also offered his condolences to Ahman-Patigi’s family, as well as the Etsu Patigi, Alhaji Ibrahim Umar Bologi II, and the people of Patigi Local Government Area. “I condole with the Ahman-Patigi family, the Etsu Patigi, Alhaji Ibrahim Umar Bologi II, and the people of Patigi LGA for this painful loss,” he said, offering prayers for peace and comfort.

The former Senate President concluded by praying for Allah’s mercy upon the deceased. “I pray to Almighty Allah to comfort all of you and grant our dear brother a place in Aljanah Firdaus,” Saraki stated.
