The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State has issued a heartfelt tribute to the late Dr Olusola Saraki, marking the 12th anniversary of his passing.
Dr. Olusola Saraki passed away on November 14, 2012, at age 79.
In a statement signed by the State Publicity Secretary, Olusegun Olusola Adewara,, the party joined its leader, former Senate President Dr. Bukola Saraki, former minister Senator Gbemisola Saraki, and other family members, associates, and followers in remembering the iconic leader and philanthropist.
“The late Dr. Olusola Saraki was a true hero, a loving family man, a detribalized Nigerian, a remarkable role model, a dependable father to many children, and a kind-hearted leader who always prioritized the welfare of the people around him,” the statement read.
The Waziri of Ilorin, Dr. Olusola Saraki was celebrated for his boundless philanthropy and his unwavering commitment to uplifting the downtrodden. The PDP noted his unique ability to transform “sons and daughters of nobody” into “somebody,” reflecting his deep compassion and genuine love for the masses.
“It is no surprise that, even twelve years after his passing, he continues to be remembered fondly by the people across the nation, especially those whose lives he touched,” the PDP stated.
The party called on Nigerians to reflect on Dr. Saraki’s enduring legacy and contributions to society, urging everyone to emulate his exemplary and selfless leadership. “The greatest honor we can bestow upon him is to emulate his exemplary and selfless leadership and uphold the values he cherished while he was with us,” the statement added.
The tribute concluded with a prayer for his family and a wish for his soul to continue to rest in peace. “Baba Saraki undoubtedly lived an extraordinary life that serves as an inspiration for all, and forever, he will continue to occupy a special place in our hearts.”
