The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State has announced the appointment of Chief Bode Ogunleye and Honourable Isiaka Mogaji to the party’s North Central Zonal Committee. The inauguration of these key figures, according to the Kwara State PDP, is set for Wednesday, November 13, in Abuja, and the exact venue will be communicated to the appointees by the Zonal Secretary.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by the Kwara PDP Publicity Secretary, Olusegun Olusola Adewara, it was confirmed that Chief Ogunleye and Hon. Mogaji, representing the Kwara South and Central Senatorial districts respectively, have been selected to advance Kwara’s interests at the zonal level.
“The duo, drawn from Kwara South and Central Senatorial districts of Kwara State, have been nominated to represent the state at the zonal level,” Adewara stated.
The PDP highlighted Chief Bode Ogunleye’s extensive experience in politics and business, describing him as a “seasoned politician, businessman, and farmer.” Ogunleye, an Obbo-Ile native from Ekiti Local Government, holds a Master’s degree in Engineering from LAUTECH. His career spans multiple high-profile roles, including positions as Councillor in Amuwo Odofin Ward of Lagos State, Secretary and Vice Chairman of Ekiti LG, Executive Chairman of Ekiti LG, and Commissioner for Economic Planning in Kwara State. Additionally, he served as a Legislative Aide to the Nigerian Senate President and as a Board Member of the Nigerian Lottery Commission.
Similarly, Hon. Isiaka Mogaji, who hails from Sapati, has been recognized for his impactful contributions in both the private and public sectors. A two-term member of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Mogaji chaired crucial committees, including Education and Public Petitions/Ethics Privileges/Anti-Corruption. Currently, he holds the role of Managing Director of Quality Plus Consulting and Training Services and serves as Secretary of the Forum of Kwara Ex-Lawmakers. He is also a Federal Board Member of the Rubber Research Institute of Nigeria, Benin City.
The state further revealed that the State Working Committee, under the leadership of Babatunde Mohammed, congratulated Ogunleye and Mogaji on their new roles and emphasized the importance of their contribution to strengthening Kwara’s representation.
“The Babatunde Mohammed-led State Working Committee (SWC), while extending her congratulations to the two-party chieftains, also urged them to bring their wealth of political experiences to bear in their new roles, ensuring that Kwara State is well represented at the Zonal level of the party,” the statement noted.
