Rotary Club of llorin to partner KWSG, others on polio eradication

T he Rotary Club of llorin GRA on Monday reaffirmed its determination to collaborate with the Kwara State Government and other organisations to wipe out polio and other killer diseases among children in the state.
The President of the club, Rotarian Alabi Amuda gave this assurance while presenting midterm report under his leadership.
Amuda, a retired Permanent Secretary from the Kwara State Civil Service said the club has put necessary machinery in motion to further complement the achievements recorded in polio eradication.
According to him, the club had embarked on various humanitarian services that had impacted positively on the lives of several residents of the state within the last six months.
He said the club within the last six months established a medical centre at lsolo Opin in Ekiti Local Government Area of the state and organised free medical service in different parts of the state capital.
The President disclosed that the club had procured vitamin drugs worth thousands of naira which will be distributed free of charge to residents of the state.
The former Permanent Secretary revealed that the llorin Rotary Club embarked on other Humanitarian activities within the last six months among which were settlement of medical bills for some indigent patients and financial assistance to some less privileged in the Society.
The President said the remaining six months of his tenure will focus on the completion of ongoing projects including water projects in various parts of the state aimed at improving well-being of the residents of the state.
Amuda while commending the Rotary members in the state for their dedication solicited more support and assistance to enable the club achieve more successes aimed at assisting the humanity.
