Agbaji Education C’ttee donates 45,000 notebooks to students

Bukola Saraki Agbaji Education Scholarship Committee has donated 45,000 note books to 3,315 students from 105 compounds in Agbaji, Ilorin West Local Government, Area of Kwara State.

Speaking during the presentation yesterday, the Committee Chairman, who doubles as the Chairman of Harmony Express Engr. Alabi Salahudeen stated that education is the bed rock of any nation adding that giving out the writing materials to students is to help them concentrate on their studies.

He added that the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki is the initiator of the scholarship programme which has been providing succour to students of Agbaji since last year.

Speaking further he said, aside the scholarship programme there is also the empowerment and employment programmes, also initiated by Saraki.

Speaking on the committee’s achievements, the Chairman said, 70 indigenous students of Agbaji were registered for NABTEB exam with 95 per cent success recorded.

He added that bursary was disbursed to tertiary institutions students to the tune of N2.8 million with another N260,000 spent on enrolling 40 others for the 2018 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

Meanwhile, a special prayer led by Imam Agbaji, Aminulahi Tantolohun was held for Saraki at the event which was graced by the Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Alhaji Abdulkareem Lambe and Engr. Mustapha Singini among others.
