Police arrest 3 for robbery in Ilorin

Men of Kwara State Police Command have nabbed three suspects for alleged robbery in Ilorin, the state capital, penultimate Thursday.
The suspects;  Raji Kemi of Alagbado area, Jimoh Mustapha and Jimoh Yusuf, both  of Okoolowo area in Ilorin were arrested over the robbery attack on the household of one Mustapha Ganiyu at Olorunshogo/Odota recently.
The armed suspects were said to robbed members of the household of cash sum of N250, 000, jewelries valued at one hundred and thirty five naira (N150,000.00) and mobile phones; Samsung Note Edge,  Samsung J5 phone, Samsung J3 phone, a Samsung Galaxy grand prime phone, and a Tecno T348 phone.
According to a police source, the case was reported at Adewole ‘D’ divisional Police Station by the victim.
“The victims said the suspects were armed with cutlasses, gun and other dangerous weapons. He also said that the armed robbers made attempt to rape his daughter, Ireti Mustapha who was stabbed on her left hand.”
The source disclosed that the police were able to tracked down and arrest the suspect when the stolen phones were traced using tracking technology.
“The Samsung J5 phone was recovered from Kemi Raji, a fiancee to one of the armed robbers, Akeem Hassam, who is at large. She claimed that the phone was given to her by a member of the robbery gang, Ahmed Olamilekan, who is also at large.
“The case was transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligent Department of the Police Command headquarters.
“The arrest of Raji led to the arrest of other members of the gang, Mustapha and Yusuf and items stolen recovered from them.
Mustapha reportedly claimed that the Samsung J5 was sold to him by one Olayiwola, who is at large for N17,000, while Yusuf said he bought the Tecno phone too from a member of the gang.
When contacted, the state Police Public Relation Officer, DSP Ajayi Okasanmi, said he has not been informed about the case.
