Air passengers laud Ilorin airport renovation, calls for wireless service

Air passengers at Ilorin International Airport have applauded the ongoing renovation of the facility by the Federal Government just as they solicited for wireless devices in the airport.
The airport is now wearing new look with the installation of street lights at different  locations, replacement of baggage machines in the arrival and departure terminals, new ticketing counters for the three airlines operating at the airport, replacement of air conditioners and other indoor equipment.

Speaking to Pilot Aviation on Saturday, one of the passengers, Mrs. Sigga Michael, said the renovation  is a good development, which could translate to more patronage.
According to her, “the airport has become a tourist place for visitors and adventurers. It is one of the most beautiful airport in the country.”
Another Passenger, Mr. James Okhifo stressed that the renovation of Ilorin airport has been long overdue.
He said, ” The renovation is a welcome development but there are still certain things that need to be put in place at the airport such as the Automated Teller Machine (ATM), a restaurant as obtained in airports such as the Muritala Mohammed Airport, etcetera. ”
Also speaking, Chief Ebenezer Olufemi, while acknowledging the airport management for the renovation, called for installation of wireless devices for passengers to access the internet while waiting for their flights.
He emphasised that most of the standard airports worldwide have internet facilities that passengers enjoy while waiting to board their flights.
