Beware of fraudsters, NNPC warns job seekers

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has declared that it is not recruiting at the momnt just as it warned job seekers to be wary of fraudsters.

The corporation’s spokesman, Ndu Ughamadu, said this in a statement issued on Wednesday.

Ughamadu said a false recruitment advert allegedly signed by Maikanti Baru, group managing director, and Anibor Kragha, chief operating officer, refineries, is being circulated.

According to the statement, unsuspecting applicants have been asked to send their applications to a “fake e-mail address”.

He urged applicants to ignore such invitations, saying those that  does so do it at their own risk.

Stressing  that the corporation would engage security agencies on the scam, Ughamadu encouraged members of the public to report such invitations to the relevant law enforcement agencies.

“The NNPC management under the leadership of Maikanti Baru would sustain the prevailing culture of transparency and accountability which has witnessed the conduct of open public bidding in sourcing for contractors and suppliers of goods and services for its day-to-day operations, including recruitment exercises, stressing that NNPC will advertise all vacant positions in national newspapers whenever it was ready to recruit,” he said.
