By Ahmed Suleiman

Chief Imam of Ansar-ud-Deen Central Mosque, Ilorin, Imam Shafi Muhammed has implored Muslims to comply with the rules of Allah so that they can receive His mercies and blessings.
Imam Shafi gave the admonition on Friday, during Jummat prayer to usher in this year’s Maolud Nabiyy in commemoration of Prophet Muhammad’s birthday.
He said that if Muslims want Allah to assist them in their endeavours, they should be ready to do His will.
He expressed further that many people are the architect of their own misfortunes stating that they should do good always even to those who repay them with evil.
His words; ”Always help family, feed them, cloth them among other assistance. Some Muslims only assist their family during Ramadan (fasting) which is bad.
“Do you observe your solat? If you are steadfast in righteous deeds, and yet He afflicts you with challenges, then it means, God wants to test your faith or He wants to wipe away your sins.
“Sometimes, He may decide to uplift you from the present situation to a better position. That is why the lessons Prophet Muhammad (SAW) taught us are meant to better our lives.”, he noted.
Speaking further, Imam Shafi said that when Muslims encounter challenges they should call onto God for help and also reflect on their actions whether they are just to God.
He said Muslims should endeavour to always comply with Allah’s injunctions and shun sins to have our prayers granted.
He therefore encouraged Muslims to always give alms to the poor and needy.
