Community appeals for reconstruction of collapsed Alagbado bridge

The Ibagun community in Ilorin East Local Government Area of Kwara State has appealed to the state government to expedite action on the reconstruction of the collapsed Alagbado bridge.
The chairman of Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), Ibagun/Okelele branch, Alhaji Hameed Amode made the appeal at the weekend on behalf of the community.
He spoke in Ilorin, the state capital during the 10th quarterly delegates meeting of IEDPU Central zone hosted by the Ibagun branch.
Amode lamented that the community has been cut off from the Specialist Hospital, Alagbado due to the collapsed bridge while also urging the state government to ensure completion of Alawonla/Dada road.
He also called for total rehabilitation of the road linking Government Day Secondary School, Amule/Samsudeen/Kankatu market, adding that the drainage from Jagun junction- Olohunboasiri/Sobi junction route needs attention.
Highlighting the achievements of the association, Amode said IEDPU Ibagun, has continued to assist students in securing admissions for indigenes of the area in various tertiary institutions in the state and beyond.
In his remarks, the Ilorin zone chairman of IEDPU, Alhaji Mohammed Olohundare appealed to all indigenes of Ilorin Emirate to contribute their quota to the development of the area.
