Kwara plumbers association expels 5 over leadership crisis
The Association of Professional Plumbers of Nigeria, Kwara chapter, has expelled five members over alleged polarisation of its leadership.
The expulsion was announced in a statement by the association’s President in Kwara, Alhaji Suleiman Sidiq-Onigbari and the Secretary Mr Azeez Tayo which was made available to newsmen.
The statement said that apart from forming a parallel executive, the expelled members also engaged in other acts capable of retarding the progress of the association.
According to the statement, those expelled are, Mr Clement Ojo-Orire, Alhaji Babatunde Alabi and Mallam Taofeeq Jimoh.
The statement which said the expulsion was in line with article 7, section 7(11) of the association constitution, also expelled Mr Adesina Adewojo and Mallam Saka Ahmed, has expelled. The statement further said that the affected members had been officially written by the association’s legal adviser and directed them to submit all association’s property in their custody with immediate effect.
Meanwhile, one of the expelled members, Ojo-Orire said only the courts had the powers to expel members from the association.
“That expulsion is illegal and baseless, it’s only the court of law that possesses such powers to expel any member of the association,” he said.
