By our staff reporter

It was party galore on Thursday as women and youth groups flocked to the residence of the former Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, to celebrate the Eid El Kabir festivity with him.
According to Saraki Press Officer on Home Matter, Abdulganiyu Abdulqadir, said the groups in their hundreds were in high spirits as they danced to the cacophony of songs and drums coming from various entertainers present at his Ilorin GRA residence.
Some of the Kwara women leaders who spoke at the merry gathering showered encomium on the Waziri Ngeri of Ilorin Emirate, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki for being true to his words to stay by them always.
They also lauded him for his unrivaled philosophy and exemplary leadership at all times.
One of them, Hajia Sarat Adebayo Ibrahim, said they were in awe that despite all odds, and unperturbed by the economic situation in the country, the statesman still kept his door wide open for them to dine, wine, and merry.
“I must confess that I’ve never seen his kind before. Is it the way he has always been a true leader to us or the support he renders at all times,” she said rhetorically.
The women noted that although, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, has not been in power in Kwara for about five years, yet, Saraki has been magnanimous enough to remain a shoulder to lean on.
“We were afraid that the end has come and that we may not enjoy the privileges of the past at a point. But it was never to be so. We have not for a day witnessed any difference between yesterday and today.”
One of the youth leaders said the President of the 8th Senate has proved beyond words as a son capable of stepping into the shoes of his father and political colossus, the late Olusola Saraki, through his selfless deeds, generosity, and natural leadership traits.
They prayed to Allah to continue to protect and elevate him to be able to put a smile on the people’s faces.
In his response, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki said he was humbled by the good words and honoured by the way the guests left their various homes to merry with him for the Sallah festival.
The Waziri Ngeri thanked them for standing by him always and assured him to always work towards the prosperity of Kwara and that of the people of the land.
Saraki said his utmost desire is to make the life of his people better, adding that nothing will debar him from that desire.
