Senate: 2 Kwarans, Oloriegbe, Sadiq, emerge C’ttee chair

The Senate President, Ahmed Lawan has announced the names of chairmen and deputy chairmen of 69 standing committees of the upper legislative chamber.
Lawan, also adjourned plenary to September 24, as the Senate commenced its annual two-month recess today.
Among those named as Chairmen of Senate Standing Committees were Kwara’s duo of Senator Sadiq Umar (Chairman, Senate Committee on Rules and Business and Vice Chairman Primary Health Care) and Senator Ibrahim Oloriegbe (Chairman, Committee on Health).
Senator Lola Ashiru, also of Kwara State was named as Vice Chairman, Committee on Housing.
In his reaction, Oloriegbe said “Today, The Nigerian 9th Senate under the leadership of Distinguished Sen. Ahmed Lawal  gave me appointments as the chairman of Senate Committee on Health and the vice-Chairman for NGOs and Diaspora.
It is my sincere hope and belief that with your prayers and supports, we shall delivered expectantly in these new assignments.”
