Kwara Utd suffers slim defeat in Akure

 

…as referee issues 3 red cards

Kwara United Football Club of Ilorin yesterday in Akure lost 1-0 to Sunshine Stars in the match 13 of the ongoing abridge league.
United boss, Bala Abubakar laments that his side’s missed chances in the early stages of their defeat to Sunshine Stars at the Akure Township stadium.
The Harmony Boys were held to a 1-1 draw in Ilorin in the reverse fixture of the encounter and hope to replicate the same result in Akure but were punished by Michael Egbeta’s 52 minutes effort.
After the game, the former Niger Tornadoes coach rues his side missed chances and urge the team to utilise their chances once they get them in subsequent games.
“It was a good game despite the fact that we didn’t get a point here, our plan was to come here and at least get a point, the boys played very well but the problem is that we didn’t utilize our early chances and times you pay for they lose chances.”
Three red cards was shown in the contest and Bala believes those calls were right, the players should be instructed to be well disciplined.
“It is a fine officiating and all the infringements were worth it and we must tell our players to be disciplined.”
He also reveal the target of the Ilorin-based side for the current season and hope it can be achieved once the season end.
“Our target from the beginning of the season is a continental ticket and we would work towards achieving it”
However, Sunshine Stars coach, Kabiru Dogo appreciates the effort of his side which earn them a 1-0 victory over Kwara United in Akure.
Speaking to journalist after the game, the former ABS FC of Ilorin gaffer congratulates his side for the victory over their visitors which return them to winning ways after failing to pick up a win 3-4 Nigeria Professional Football League games.
He also thank the management and fans of the Akure based-side for their support during the match.
“Congratulation to my side Sunshine Stars for the past 3 to 4 matches we have not been getting the right result I appreciate the boys and management and fans.”
“This is what I want from Akure faithfuls, they should come together and fight for the interest of Sunshine stars not fight themselves like what as been affecting the team”
“With the new peace in the town now the team can move forward.”
Dogo has no comment on the referee’s decision to give two red cards to his team and one to the opponent “No comment on the issue of officiating.”

Kwara United Coach, Bala Abubakar in his high sense of magnanimity again donates replica jerseys of the team to the club Fans club.
According to him, “This becomes inevitable because of their unalloyed love for the team and great passion for the round leather game which is continuously exhibited with great resilience by the two groups, yes, I can simply describe them as the life wire of the club.
“They electrify the stadium with organize noise and sporadic beat while the match lasted, raise the spirit and performances of players with different supportive songs, the enthusiasm of the crowd and equally balance their equilibrium, the ecstasy of the environment is enlivened and stabilized.
“They are simply amazing, marvelous and serve as additional ‘figure’ to the team”, he said.
“I therefore found it necessary to socially encourage them as a sign of appreciation and to charge them to do more.
“We are Oliver Twist, we need more of their support and the support of everyone. Success is our project, it has to be supported by all and sundry.
“This is the virtue of being great of mind and heart which encompasses, usually, a refusal to be petty, a willingness to face danger, and actions for noble purposes.”
