A visiting Imam at Agaka Centre Mosque, Asa-Dam road Ilorin, Ustaz Mustapha Bunyameen has tasked muslims to prepare themselves for the coming month of forgiveness with the fear of Almighty Allah.

According to him, the month is meant for blessing and forgiveness and Muslims should make the most use of it to secure Allah’s pleasure.

He said this on Friday while delivering the Jumaat sermon (Khutba) to herald the traditional two rakat congregational prayers adding that muslims should turn back from their bad deeds and focus on good deeds to attain the blessing of the month

“Muslims should stop habit of backbiting, drinking of Alcohol, adultery, taking of bribes and cheat.”

Bunyameen added that Muslims should use the month to move closer to Allah and at the same time to be honest in all their activities.

The imam described Ramadan as a market where everybody do transaction and make profit adding that only those who get profit are those trade with Almighty Allah with good works.

He urged Muslims to be reading the Glorious Qur’an and make use of it to treat the heart.

“Control your mind and body away from sins that can make you face the wrath of Allah, turn it away from sins and seek for forgiveness from Allah and vow not to go back to that sin(s) again.

“If you are fasting, let your eyes, ears and tongue fast, anyone who follow this will be blessed and received reward from Allah.

“We should also do good deed to the family with everything we have including money and knowledge among others.โ€
